Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a high-performing public charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts, serving more than 1,600 students in grades K–12. The school operates across four campuses:

• Kindergarten at 576 Eastern Avenue

• Lower School (Grades 1–8) at 770 Salem Street

• High School (Grades 9–12) at 238 and 306 Highland Avenue

Mystic Valley draws students from the surrounding communities of Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield. The school follows an extended day and extended year model, with classes running from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM over a 200-day academic year. This additional time allows MVRCS to deliver a rigorous, content-rich education that prepares students for success at the post-secondary level and beyond.

Job Summary
Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher for Grades 1–6 to deliver large-group instruction. Successful candidates will contribute to grade-level teams focused on improving instructional practices and supporting student achievement across all subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement rigorous curricula and engaging activities aligned to academic standards

• Design and administer assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction

• Use data to drive decisions and adapt instruction to meet student needs

• Actively participate in collaborative curriculum development and grade-level initiatives

• Maintain high behavioral and academic expectations, providing consistent consequences and recognition

• Take ownership of student achievement and mastery of learning objectives

• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues

• Engage in a comprehensive three-week summer staff orientation and training session

• A strong commitment to improving the lives and outcomes of students both in and out of the classroom

• Demonstrated success and a proven track record of student achievement

• Passion and deep content knowledge in History (or relevant academic subject)

• Self-motivated, reflective, and open to feedback

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute as a member of a team
