St. Edmund's Academy 

1st Grade Associate Teacher

St. Edmund's Academy seeks a dedicated and dynamic teacher with experience working with young children for a 1st Grade Associate Teacher position.  The 1st Grade Associate Teacher collaboratively supports a 1st Grade Homeroom Teacher in a self-contained classroom and works closely with the 1st Grade team and Director of Lower School to ensure that classroom practices align with the school's mission, vision, core values, and curriculum.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the homeroom teacher with using the school's core curricula to teach all language arts, math, and social studies classes, responding to students' individual learning needs, supporting the homeroom teacher's collaborative communication with parents, and supporting community initiatives.

Excellent candidates will have an outstanding record teaching early childhood or elementary school-aged groups, believe in children's capacity to achieve high standards, work to build positive relationships daily, be motivated to implement research-based practices, and greet change and new ideas with curiosity and optimism.

The candidate must share the school's commitment to ensuring that every child, family, and colleague in our diverse community knows that they belong at St. Edmund's Academy.  Excellent candidates demonstrate cultural competence, racial literacy, and global awareness.

Teacher's dedicated to meeting the students' individual academic and personal needs while collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply.  A Bachelor's degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education is preferred.
