Manufacturing Assistant, $17/hr, Wixom, MI
Are you looking for a new opportunity? Do you have experience working in a shop environment and have knowledge of machine shop equipment? If so, this is the position for you!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and interpret weld layout sheets
- Ability to read and interpret hanger sheets
- Safety move pipe
- Safely use saws and grooving machines, for processing pipe
- Perform assembly operations
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the foreman.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
- Perform preventive machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Use care in the handling of all materials and products.
- Operate all material handling equipment safely while adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of machine shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills with or without use of a calculator.
- Must know to read tape measure
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
In this position, the Manufacturing Assistant will be responsible for loading, driving, and unloading materials to fulfill customer and company needs. You will also need to layout, cut, and groove pipe to meet customer expectations. You’ll also build small assemblies for customer orders. This position is going from 5am-2:30pm M-F with some OT depending on workload. This is a temporary to hire opportunity!
