2025 Melas Park Manager on Duty

Join our athletics staff as a key member of the Arlington Heights team that works at Melas Park. This position will be responsible for performing various daily, cyclical, and routine facility management functions. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and passionate about fostering a welcoming environment for all park visitors. Anticipated Hiring Range: $15-$17/Hr.

Part-Time Wages

Flexible shifts during Mid-March-October Months

Mondays - 4 pm-11 pm
Tuesdays - 8 am-1 pm or 4 pm-11 pm
Wednesdays -  4 pm-11 pm
Thursdays - 8 am-1 pm or 4 pm-11 pm
Fridays -  8 am-1 pm or 4-11 pm
Saturdays - 6:30 am-2 pm or 2-10 pm
Sundays - 6:30 am-2 pm or 2-10 pm

JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION:

• Oversee daily operations of Melas Park Softball Complex, including opening/closing procedures.


• Set up ballfields for league and tournament play; prepare scoresheets and game balls for umpires.


• Enter game scores into Quickscores software and maintain field conditions by sweeping, cleaning, and adding rubber filler to turf.


• Ensure cleanliness of concession areas, sitting areas, restrooms, and maintenance garage.


• Assist patrons with concerns and uphold safety policies in compliance with District regulations.


• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and perform additional duties as assigned.

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum age of 18 is required


• High school graduate or G.E.D.


• CPR and AED certification


• Basic knowledge of tasks involved in the general upkeep of athletic grounds and fields and maintenance garages preferred but not required


• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
