2025 Point72 Academy Case Competition—New York City

The Point72 Academy Case Competition is your chance to showcase your investing skills by presenting a stock pitch to Point72 with a team from your university.

You and one to three teammates will analyze a company, develop an investment thesis, and submit your pitch. Finalists will be paired with a Point72 mentor and given the opportunity to present their pitch to Point72 investment professionals in our New York City office. Prizes include scholarships and an accelerated interview process for future opportunities.

Prep your pitch: You and your teammates will research a company provided by Point72, build a financial model, and submit your analysis as a presentation. We encourage you to creatively leverage AI to enhance your research and analysis, showcasing both your insights and the innovative ways you integrated AI into your process.

Refine with a Mentor: We’ll pair each finalist team with a Point72 mentor, who will help you refine your pitch for your final presentation to the Point72 team.

Present your case: As a Finalist, you’ll earn a trip to NYC where you’ll rise to the challenge of presenting your case to members of our investment professional community. You’ll also network with your peers and representatives from our recruiting, Academy, and investing teams.

How to Participate in the Point72 Academy Case Competition—New York City

1.    Register

o  Form a team of two to four students from the same U.S. university. All team members must be in their first or second year of university (no third-year or higher students are eligible).

o  Choose a team captain and a team name.

o  All team members must register and apply as a group, using the same application. The team captain will be responsible for submitting the application and must have a copy of each team member’s resume.

o   The deadline for registration is October 1, 2025.

2.    Submit

o  On October 2, 2025, team captains will receive submission instructions for their teams’ entry.

o  Teams must submit their presentation by October 13, 2025.

3.    Finalist Competition

o  Finalists will be notified by October 27, 2025.

o  We will pair finalist teams with a mentor from Point72, who will provide feedback and guidance as students refine and improve their final presentations.

o  Final presentations must be submitted by November 10, 2025.

o   The Finalist Competition will take place in New York City on November 13 – 14th.

o  Point72 will cover all travel and accommodation costs within reason.

Case Competition Timeline

October 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET: Registration closes

October 2, 2025: Case assignment sent via email to registered team captains

October 13, 2025: Deadline to submit presentation

October 27, 2025: Finalists announced & Point72 mentors assigned

November 10, 2025: Deadline to submit final presentation

November 13 – 14, 2025: Case Competition Finalists in New York

Competition Rules and Important Considerations for Applicants

Eligibility and Registration:

Undergraduate students graduating from December 2027 – July 2029 from a nationally accredited university in the United States are eligible. Students graduating outside this range are not eligible.

All students of a single team must attend and reside at the same undergraduate institution for the duration of the competition.

If the registration instructions outlined above are not followed, your team may be disqualified.

Case Assignment: The case assignment and detailed guidelines will be released on October 2, 2025 from [email protected].

Final Round Requirements:

Finalist teams must ensure all members can attend the final round in New York City on November 13 – 14, 2025. Teams with absent members may be disqualified.

Finalist teams will be paired with a Point72 mentor for a 60-minute feedback session on their pitch before the final presentation submission due on November 10, 2025.

All team members are required to have speaking parts during the finalist presentations.

Travel and Accommodations: Point72 will cover travel and accommodation expenses within reason.
