Position: 2025 Summer School Aide (All Campuses - English and/or French Speakers)

Overview

Leading and supporting students as they participate in activities in and/or out of the classroom.

Status of Position

This is a full-time summer position with Académie Lafayette. This position will have orientation on June 5th, with summer school running from June 9th - July 9th. There is no summer school, and no pay, on June 19th and July 4th. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.

Reporting

Aides report to their campus/building principal.

Responsibilities

Job Duties include:

• Report to your designated area before school and during dismissal.


• Unless advised otherwise, your assigned classroom is your responsibility.


• Lead students and participate with hands-on activities, presentations and field trips.


• Monitor students to ensure compliance of summer school rules and to prevent accidents.


• Report any incidents, accidents and rule violations to appropriate staff.


• Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of all supplies and equipment.


• Perform head counts of students throughout the day.
  
  
  
  • Head counts should be performed prior to leaving the classroom, after boarding buses, and arriving/departing from Field Trip locations.
  
  
  
  


• Ensure no distractions or interferences with the delivery of instruction/activities.
  
  
  
  • No texting, talking on a cell phone, or wearing headphones while on duty. Especially during a field trip.
  
  
  
  


• Other duties as instructed by teachers and/or administrators.

Attendance

Your attendance is vital for the success of our program. Advise your building director of any known absences as soon as possible. Please try to give a minimum of a 12 hour notice if you will be unable to make your next scheduled work day.

Qualifications

High school student or above.

Other Requirements

• Must pass a state and federal fingerprint background check through MACHS.


• Must be registered, or get registered, with the Family Care Safety Registry.


• Please note that we are not able to offer a visa for summer school positions.
