What is the Role?
Bring your passion for discovery to Coney Island Prep as our incoming High School Science Teacher! We are especially looking for educators with experience teaching Physics. This role will serve 12th grade students and includes teaching one section of physics and two sections of a senior science elective. The elective course can be developed in collaboration with school leadership and aligned to your strengths and interests. You will create a research based, standards aligned curriculum through which you will engage our scholars by fostering critical thinking, problem solving, and facilitating opportunities for them to gather evidence to support their decisions. Bring excitement and enrichment to the classroom by using experiments and inspire scholars to make connections between their lives and scientific phenomena.

Who are we?
Coney Island Prep High School is a college preparatory, public charter high school located in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn and is the first charter school located in Community School District 21. Founded in 2013, CIPHS enrolls approximately 350 students in grades 9-12, with 75 students in the senior class. Since its first graduating class in 2017, every CIPHS senior graduates with college acceptances in hand. Scholars dive into a rigorous curriculum rich with AP courses, College and Career Readiness classes, all in a supportive, small-school environment with extracurricular opportunities from sports to enrichment clubs and leadership opportunities. All CIPHS seniors are eligible for tuition assistance and financial support starting at a baseline amount of $3,000 annually through the PRIDE Promise Scholarship.
