About Einstein Charter Schools:

The mission of Einstein Charter Schools (“Einstein”) is to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient. Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter Schools is a top performing, tuition free, open admissions network of 4 schools in New Orleans East, serving grades PK-12. Authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board, we service the needs of more than 1,700 students, over 30% of whom receive ELL services. Since opening in 2006, Einstein’s Village De L’ Est campus amassed six years of unprecedented, continuous academic gains, removing the school from the severely underperforming list and leading us to replicate the school three times in four years.

Continuing our record of success, after opening Einstein Charter School at Sherwood Forest in the fall of 2013, we founded Einstein Charter Middle and Einstein Charter High in the former Sarah Towles Reed High School facility. By 2020 we anticipate serving the needs of over 2,000 students in grades PK-12 across five schools. Our ambitious plan has been funded by the United State Department of Education when we received the Charter School's Program grant for replication and expansion of High Quality Charter Schools in 2015.

Reports to the Principal and/or designee

Position Overview

Lead, implement, organize and monitor Response to Intervention and 504 programs. Oversee state compliance of RTI, 504 and State Testing for the school. Work to educate the community and teachers regarding the criteria for 504, RTI and State Testing.

Key Responsibilities

Response to Intervention

• School representation at RTI meetings.

• Ensure that school campus is meeting the RTI state recommendation percentages of students in tiers 2 and 3

• Educate all campus personnel on RTI district philosophies and processes and align all actions accordingly.

• Regular communication with School Leaders the status relative to the percentages of students being serviced and the fidelity of intervention to RTI.

• Support teachers in documenting RTI students’ progress.

• Facilitate all Response to Intervention Team processes with the principals, support staff, parents, and instructional staff.

• Gather and organize grade-level/subject area universal assessment tools and assist in the development of assessments for progress monitoring purposes for all teachers.

• Design collaborative systems to support the sharing of RTI best practices.

• Implement and track all Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for all identified students.

• Design systems and tools to measure the effectiveness of Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.

• Refine Tier 2 and Tier 3 instructional strategies and support as needed to improve effectiveness.

• Use and model instructional and behavioral support tools effectively.

• Assist administrators and teachers in creating a classroom and a total school environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of Tier 2 and 3 students.

• Participate in professional development and stay abreast of current RTI research through educational seminars, workshops, conferences and membership in professional organization.

504 Responsibilities

• Develops, continually revises and ensures the implementation of consistent Section 504 procedures.

• Provides ongoing training and support to district staff regarding Section 504 and the implementation of the Section 504 procedures.

• Collects and maintains all Section 504 data (504 plans, lists of eligible students, discipline records) for future reference.

• Serves as a daily resource to district administrators, building level teams, and community members regarding Section 504 issues.

• Coordinates Section 504 grievance procedures.

• Advises the Director of Special Education and 504 Compliance regarding Section 504 compliance issues and needs.

• Participate in professional development and stay abreast of current 504 research through educational seminars, workshops, conferences and membership in professional organizations.

• Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal’s Office.

School Site Test Coordinator

• Perform various duties as directed by DTC for each assessment administration before testing, during testing, & after testing

• Ensure 100% school compliance in accordance with LDOE testing accountability standards

• Implement procedures for ensuring security & confidentiality of state-mandated testing programs & other assessments

• Direct & oversee test implementation & monitor testing activities to ensure that procedures are followed & deadlines met

• Collaborate with school leaders regarding the implementation of each assessment administration

• Submit school detailed Testing Plan of Action

• Attend & conduct assessment webinars & test security professional developments

• Provide timely support for testing administrators

• Secure documentations of students with IEP, IAP, & English Learner Accommodations Checklist

• Consult with school staff to provide appropriate testing accommodations to students with IEP, IAP, & English Learner Accommodation Checklist

• Identify, investigate, & address testing irregularities

• Report discrepancies & disciplinary actions taken against students as required

• Work with instructional teams to provide student test data

• Maintain & ensure integrity of testing data

• Ensure all materials & data are submitted within established timelines

• Track & monitor location of test materials throughout the distribution, return, & storage process

• Compile, maintain, file, & secure all reports, records, & other required documents

• Train school staff to ensure that tests are conducted & procedures are consistently followed

• Follow district safety protocols & emergency procedures

Other Responsibilities

• Use data to help principals, interventionist and teachers identify and group children who need additional support.

• Help interventionists and teachers develop and implement classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual children and groups of children to enhance their acquisition of social/emotional and cognitive skills.

• Monitor Accelerated Instruction at the school campus.

• Develop, implement and assist in the usage of instructional and behavioral support tools effectively.

• Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward academic achievement and curriculum goals and train teachers on the instructional techniques throughout the year.

• Make sure that teachers and interventionists establish clear objectives for all Accelerated Instruction lessons, units, and projects.

• Regularly analyze testing data with teachers and campus administrators and adjusts instructional strategies to maximize probability of student success.

• Assess the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provide data progress reports to campus and district administrators every nine weeks.

• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.

Skills/Qualifications

• Education and Experience - Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred from accredited university

• Certificates, Licenses - Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate preferred

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
