Position Overview:
This is an unpaid non-employee instructional position. Applicants must be employed by a high school or Independent School Districts that has an existing partnership with Dallas College. The Dual Credit Credentialed Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, college-level course content to high school students seeking dual credit. This role bridges the gap between high school and college by providing students with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. The instructor must have the necessary credentials to teach college-level courses and should be committed to helping students succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach college-level courses in a high school setting, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with college standards.
Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom activities that foster critical thinking and academic growth.
Adopt innovative teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of high school students.
Develop and update course materials and syllabi in accordance with college standards and guidelines.
Collaborate with Dallas College academic leadership and college faculty to ensure course content is relevant, up to date, and aligns with the Dallas College course learning outcomes.
Provide guidance and support to dual credit students in their academic endeavors, including college application and course selection advice.
Offer time to students to assist students with their coursework and address academic concerns.
Share Dallas College student resources which will aid in academic success such tutoring and library services.
Refer students to Dallas College student support services, as needed.
Administer assignments, exams, and assessments to evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date grading records in college learning management systems.
Adhere to college and high school grading policies and deadlines.
Stay current with pedagogical best practices and college-level educational trends.
Pursue opportunities for professional growth and further education to maintain credentials.
Appropriate teaching credentials or qualifications in compliance with college requirements.
Able to provide documentation demonstrating successful completion of outlined requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
