Position Overview
AZ Compass Prep is seeking a motivated and dynamic English Teacher to design and deliver high-quality instruction that supports student growth in reading, writing, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships, uses data to guide instruction, and creates a classroom environment where all students can succeed.
This is a full-time position. Salary is based on education and experience.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction using effective teaching strategies
Use student data to drive small group instruction and targeted support
Design and implement assessments aligned to learning objectives
Provide clear, timely feedback and reteach as needed to ensure mastery
Build strong communication with parents, guardians, and staff
Implement curriculum with fidelity and adjust based on student needs
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration
Maintain accurate records, reports, and required documentation
Enforce school expectations, including attendance, behavior, and classroom procedures
Model professionalism, character, and high expectations for all students
Support school-wide initiatives and perform assigned duties
Skills and Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong organization and time management skills
Understanding of instructional strategies and student learning needs
Knowledge of state standards and educational requirements
Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Comfort using technology for instruction, communication, and data tracking
Proficiency with email, calendars, and basic software tools
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, English, or related field required
