ROLE OVERVIEW


This position supports 211 Eastern Oklahoma, a free service connecting individuals across


37 counties in Eastern Oklahoma to vital community resources via phone, live chat, text,


or online search. The role balances two key functions: serving as a Resource Navigator to


link callers with health and human services through inbound/outbound calls and crisis


intervention, and as a Database Curator responsible for maintaining the integrity,


accuracy, and comprehensiveness of the 211EOK resource database. The position requires


building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, United Ways, and Information and


Referral programs while supporting closed-loop referral systems and emergency


response coordination.


 


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


Navigation & Client Services



  • Respond to incoming calls and make outbound contacts to connect callers under duress with health and human services, including crisis intervention and advocacy assistance

  • Provide specialized support to individuals experiencing homelessness (HUD definition) and Veterans

  • Complete follow-up calls for assessment requirements and pending referrals

  • Document all interactions in software platforms to support follow-up and program planning


Database Management



  • Maintain and update the 211 resource database through regular, seasonal, and annual reviews

  • Verify information accuracy and classify listings according to 211 HSIS taxonomy and national accreditation standards

  • Analyze service gaps and identify external databases and directories for collaboration

  • Maintain contact with culturally diverse communities to ensure relevant resource
    listings

  • Ensure accurate listing of disaster and emergency responders for efficient retrieval during crises


Community Engagement



  • Attend meetings with providers and partners to foster relationships and troubleshoot challenges

  • Represent 211EOK at assigned events and community gatherings

  • Support the 211EOK Community Resources Manager and executive leadership

  • Perform extended duties during community emergencies


 


QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or GED required (preference for advanced skill sets, equivalent experience, or 211-specific certification)

  • Prior experience in resource database support or similar position preferred

  • Knowledge of database systems and experience with data gathering, categorizing, and analysis preferred

  • Direct Services and/or Information and referral experience preferred

  • InformUSA CRS or CRS-DC Certification preferred, or within six months of eligibility

  • Exceptional attention to detail, responsiveness, and customer service

  • High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel)

  • Excellent writing skills with adherence to 211 standards

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team.


 


Working Conditions



  • Day-to-day work will be conducted primarily in an office setting with occasional office or team meetings conducted in-person. The ability to work remotely requires trust and confidence from the Leadership Team. You must have proven abilities to work independently with little to no guidance from management.

  • Some travel required

  • TAUW hosts multiple events throughout the year which are held in both indoor and outdoor locations.

  • Interactions beyond staff include communications with volunteers, donors, leaders and staff of nonprofit organizations, board, cabinet, and committee members, and the general public.
