Description

Responsibilites: Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), responsible for the direction and administration of services to children who are seriously emotionally disturbed and their families.  Collaborates with other programs and the CEO, assessing community needs; designs, supervises, and manages services; develops and evaluates all components of the program. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: administrative and technical supervision of staff, budget preparation, department goals and objectives, relevant procedures development and decision-making, as well as implementation of CMHA-CEI’s policy and procedures.  May include participation in statewide committees and advocacy efforts.  Responsible for carrying out all activities of the office in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health Administration, Psychology, or related field required. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required.  A minimum of five years of progressively more responsible experience in development and administration of treatment services programs in the mental health field required. A minimum of three years at a senior administrative level required. Must have demonstrated leadership, public speaking, and verbal and written communication skills.  Experience with budget and financial management required. Must have good clinical knowledge and commitment to the developmentally disabled population. 

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours:  Salary commensurate with education and experience.  40 hours per week.  Flexible work schedule, including evening meetings. 

Location: Families Forward/Administration, Lansing, Michigan.
