Description
As an AFS-Licensed Substitute K-12 teacher, you will be a vital part of our Options-Main department, providing essential support to our students and teachers. With your flexibility and dedication, you will ensure a smooth and engaging learning environment across our diverse locations. Your role will involve stepping in when regular teachers are absent, maintaining continuity in the classroom, and delivering high-quality education to our students.

Responsibilities

Substitute teach for any/all Options sites, ensuring a consistent and positive learning experience for students.
Engage and motivate students, creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines, adapting teaching methods to meet student needs.
Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with colleagues, parents, and guardians.
Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning culture.
Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their academic growth.
Collaborate with the school community to create a cohesive and enriching educational experience.
Stay updated with educational trends and best practices to enhance your teaching methods.
Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.

Qualifications

AFS License for K-12 teaching is mandatory.
A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience as a substitute teacher is an asset.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Adaptability and flexibility to teach across different grade levels and subjects.
A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Basic knowledge of educational technology and its integration in the classroom.
