Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator to join our team as a High School Instructor for Health Professions & Behavioral Health. This role is integral to our Pathways in Technology Early College (P-TECH) model, where you will have the unique opportunity to teach college-level Health Professions (HPR) courses to high school students, preparing them for future careers in healthcare and behavioral health. As a concurrent enrollment faculty member, you will partner with the Community College of Aurora, ensuring a seamless transition for students into higher education.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and interactive college-level Health Professions (HPR) coursework to high school students, fostering a love for learning and a passion for healthcare.
  • Guide and mentor students, providing academic and career counseling to help them navigate their educational journey and future healthcare career paths.
  • Collaborate with the Community College of Aurora to ensure a smooth concurrent enrollment process, offering students a seamless transition into higher education.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, utilizing technology and interactive methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in healthcare, incorporating relevant and current topics into your curriculum to provide students with a well-rounded education.
  • Build strong relationships with students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
  • Collaborate with other educators and stakeholders to align curriculum and teaching methods with the school's vision and mission.
  • Attend professional development workshops and conferences to enhance your teaching skills and stay abreast of best practices in health education.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or a closely related discipline, with a preference for a Master's degree in Health Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license to teach in the state of Colorado, with a focus on Health Professions or a related subject area.
  • Experience teaching health-related courses at the high school or college level, with a proven track record of student success and engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, ensuring a relevant and up-to-date curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms to enhance student engagement and access to resources.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success, with a willingness to go above and beyond to support students' academic and career goals.
