Position Summary: 

The RISE (Reflect. Improve. Strengthen. Evolve.) The Instructional Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Tier 1 and 2 programming at BCHS that provides targeted social-emotional-behavioral (SEB) support at the Tier 2 level. This program acknowledges the critical impact of repeated student infractions and peer conflicts on the learning environment. It seeks to address these challenges through responsive small groups, peer and family mediation, and a collaborative approach with the existing school teams.   This is an 11-month position that is supervised by the Network Managing Director of Student Support.

Core Responsibilities: 

• Tiered SEB Instruction:




• Create responsive Tier 2 lesson plans, projects, and decks to provide Tier 2 SEB support by facilitating small-group lessons 2-3 times per week, peer mediations, restorative conferences, and family meetings for RISE students and families. 


• Develop a Tier 1 scope and sequence for all 9th-grade students.  The instructional coordinator is responsible for creating Tier 1 whole-group lessons, projects, rubrics, and cooperative activities, as well as maintaining school records, including attendance, grades, and family outreach logs.  Tier 1 SEB instruction is provided to all 9th-grade students in full-class settings.  Freshmen receive instruction 2-3 times per week for 1 semester.  The 9th-grade RISE class is co-facilitated with the RISE Mentoring Coordinator.


• Collaborate with staff, community agencies, and all stakeholders in the students' lives to implement support plans


• Coordinate with the culture team & FSS to schedule and conduct peer and family mediation
  
  

Positive School Culture:

• Collaborate with culture, leadership, team leads, and families as you develop the RISE program


• Support the implementation of schoolwide SEB initiatives such as strategy bulletin boards, mediation requests, competitions, recognitions, etc., for students and families.
  
  

Preventative Measures:

• Work with teachers and staff to implement conflict mitigation strategies


• Conduct proactive home visits for school readiness, as well as ongoing home visits as needed 


• Support school-based staff in developing and implementing Tier 1 strategies to address social-emotional and behavioral challenges among high school students.
  
  

Monitoring, Data Analysis, and Staff Education:

• Gather, research, and analyze whole school behavior data


• Monitor the progress of small groups and individual students participating in the program.


• Make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the program's effectiveness.


• Manage the program's budget, including funds allocated for materials, rewards, and partnerships.


• Deliver professional development presentations on SEB intervention supports


• Communicate behavior data regularly with school staff


• Establish cooperative and innovative approaches to support students with SEB needs

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain knowledge of state, local, and BCN guidelines on behavior and discipline.


• Refer students with exceptional support needs to school social workers (FSS) and administration.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: 

• A bachelor’s degree is required; a master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.


• Experience working with high school students 


• Previous experience in program development, implementation, and management.


• Strong understanding of social-emotional and behavioral support strategies.


• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.


• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, staff, and families.


• Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and restorative practices is preferred.


• Experience managing data, using data systems, and reporting data is preferred

Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all stakeholders, individually and as a group.


• Ability to work effectively with all racial, ethnic linguistics, and socio-economic groups.


• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including collaborative problem-solving and decision-making.
