About the Role:

Mass Virtual is looking for a creative Multimedia 3D/2D Animator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate possesses a great eye for design, color, and composition, as well as a passion for creating immersive and engaging animations. We are looking for someone who displays the ability to be productive and flexible while accomplishing a wide range of tasks within our fast-paced, team-collaborative environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Creating lightweight, high fidelity, 3D/2D still art and animations for use in Web applications
• Using art to explain complex concepts in stills, animations, or videos
• Generating rapid proof of concept graphics
• Contributing to workflow documentation
• Assist in data collection (photography, 3d Scanning, etc.)
• Work within budgets for the given platforms
• Work independently on assets and collaborate with code and design teams
• Define work processes together with the Art and Project Managers

What you need to succeed:

• Highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Animate
• Ability to locate art references online when needed
• Ability to adapt to new technologies
• Ability to perform work in accordance with prescribed deadlines, on time, and high quality
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Focused, motivated, and effective on all tasks through completion
• Comfortable adapting to changing processes and ambiguous requests
• Comfortable iterating on content until it is 100%
• Excellent oral and written English language skills
• Ability to gain a U.S. Security Clearance

Great to have:

• 3D Animation/Rendering/Lighting experience
• Familiarity with Web native animation tools such as Canva or Pencil 2D
• Familiarity with learning and design processes
• Familiarity with US military iconography and visual concepts
• Ability to animate in Canva or Pencil 2D
• Experience with AI image generation
• Production experience in the gaming or simulation industries
• Scripting experience
• Video editing experience
• Understanding of the technology of computer game production
• Art education
• A passion for games and Virtual Reality
• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, etc.)

Working Conditions:

• In-office 100% of the time
• The person in this position must be able to stay stationary for long periods of time
• Some travel may be required for this role
• Some transportation of equipment may be required – up to 50 pounds
