About the Role

As our Second Grade Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in helping scholars bridge foundational skills and build deeper understanding in reading, writing, and math. You’ll foster a classroom culture that’s structured, nurturing, and filled with curiosity and exploration. With your guidance, scholars will gain confidence, independence, and a deeper love for learning.

Scope of Work

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction across all core content areas (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies)

• Provide explicit, research-based literacy instruction that supports decoding, fluency, and comprehension

• Use data and formative assessments to drive instruction and support differentiated learning

• Incorporate social-emotional learning and community building into your daily routines

• Maintain high expectations and a joyful, inclusive learning environment

• Build strong relationships with scholars and families through ongoing communication

• Collaborate with your grade-level team and instructional leaders to plan, reflect, and grow

• Model and promote a growth mindset in all areas of classroom practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Valid Arkansas teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) in K–6 or Elementary Education

• Strong knowledge of early literacy and numeracy strategies

• Experience working with young learners and a passion for equity in education

• Patience, structure, enthusiasm, and a deep belief in the potential of every child
