2nd Shift Custodian

Kent Quality Foods, a premier manufacture of specialty meat products, is seeking a 2nd shift custodian at our Grand Rapids location. We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented 2nd shift custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and guests. This role is responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, light maintenance support, and building tasks during evening hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, entrances, and common spaces.


• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect surfaces, and remove trash and recycling.


• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.


• Set up, move, or arrange furniture and equipment for events or cleaning as assigned.


• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, equipment problems, or supply needs to a supervisor.


• Follow established cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.


• Perform other custodial or light facility support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred but not required.


• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently.


• Reliable attendance, professionalism, and attention to detail.


• Ability to use standard cleaning tools and equipment safely.


• This position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting throughout the shift.


• Ability to lift and carry upto 50 pounds, use cleaning equipment, climb stairs, and work with cleaning products in accordance with safety guidelines.

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday, with shifts beginning at 3:00 pm and averaging 8–12 hours per day. Occasional Saturday work may be required based on facility needs.

Pay is based on experience. Eligible for $3 per hour shift differential, attendance bonus valued at $1 per hour and profit sharing.
