Job Description - 2nd Shift FSQA Lead

Description

The FSQA Lead is responsible for directing and controlling daily activities to meet the plant needs meeting all SOP requirements and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards. Under the general supervision of the FSQA Supervisor, the FSQA Lead, must be able to give support to the other FSQA Department by performing his/hers FSQA checks in his/her area of responsibility. FSQA Lead, must be able to give support to Technicians and all the departments in the facility, Production, Tortilla, and Cook Rooms. This individual will be the liaison with USDA when Food Safety concerns are presented to the plant by USDA inspectors. As well as follow all Safety and GMP Guidelines. The FSQA Lead will work closely with sanitation to assure sanitary conditions are maintained during the shift Must be able to multi-task, adapt to various work assignments; You must be able to act proactively to ensure seamless team operations and effective collaboration. You will lead by example and engage team to achieve goals. 

Requirements


o Assist with and inspire team atmosphere with an open communication culture.

o Assist in communicating daily goals to team and follow up progress.

o Monitor team performance and report on metrics.

o Assist in identifying performance gaps and implement additional training as needed.

o Be open to feedback and engage in issue resolution at all levels.

o Follow and support all company GMPs and HACCP policies.

o Adhere to company Lock Out /Tag Out and HACCP procedures.

o Adhere to all company GMPs and following company directives on regulatory, product quality, sanitation, food safety, employee, and environmental standards.

o Effectively communicate with Production Room, Tortilla, Warehouse, Maintenance and QA, focusing on conducting effective and timely specific areas within the food processing environment and pieces of equipment.

o Responsible to apply immediate corrective actions and report all food safety issues to Shift and FSQA management.

o Capable of set up X-Ray Equipment and Metal Detectors to start a production cycle.

o Understand and follow all department SOP’s (Site Operating Procedures).

o Ability to understand, read and complete all necessary paperwork, including but not limited to USDA or FDA Documents.

o Ensure all FSQA Procedures are enforced and followed.

o Assist with daily FSQA records and verify all documentation is completed correctly and timely.

o Any other duties/roles as assigned.

Training skills 

o Good basic math aptitude and ability to use scales and calculators. 

o Flexible with work schedule to fit business needs. 

o Assist with and inspire team atmosphere with an open communication culture. 

o Assist in communicating daily goals and follow up progress.

o Assist in identifying performance gaps and implement additional training as needed.

o Perform required checks and fully understand quality standards. 

o Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and conducting inspections. 

 Qualifications 

o Good communication and training skills. 

o Good basic computer skills able to navigate Microsoft Office programs. 

o Good basic math aptitude and ability to use scales and calculators. 

o Have at least one year experience as an FSQA Technician at Red’s All Natural LLC. 

o Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. • Must be available to work overtime as required. 

o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists. 

o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing. 

o Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

o Problem solving and troubleshooting. 

o Managing projects and teams.

Work Environment 

o Continuous standing in one location for long periods (up to 2-3 hours before break); up to 10-hour shifts 

o Climbing or moving on ladders, steps, stairwells, walkways, and platforms, 

o Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling of heavy and/or awkward objects or loads. Lifting and lowering of objects up to 60 lbs. Pushing or pulling of heavy roller carts, bins, or transport containers up to 80 lbs. 

o A variety of arm and hand movements are required in applying force, movement, and repetition. 

o May be subject to reach, kneel, climb, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, or twist 66% of work shift. 

o Regular exposure to cold, hot and humid conditions 

o Climate extremes found in all areas of plant operations. 

o Ability to work in close spaces. 

o Loud noise environment
