Primary Job Responsibilities
- All tools and equipment to be used in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations
- Reads and interprets material and cut list information
- Ensures quality parts and materials produced through machinery
- Navigates machinery interface effectively
- Troubleshoots machinery issues, identifies root cause, and retains corrective action knowledge
- Supports all additional tasks directed by the production manager
- Performs daily operator checklist of machinery
- Executes lumber cutting, framing, nailing, and routing timely and in the sequence required by production
- Sorts and organizes scrap material generated from machinery
- Effectively communicates mechanical breaks, errors, and down time to production management and maintenance staff
- Safely and effectively operates computer-aided systems
- Learns and understands necessary computer programs to perform job related tasks
- Adheres to PPE and safety requirements of the production facility
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable safety regulations.
- Ability to read, count and write
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping and climbing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
