2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor - Urgent Hiring

As a machine shop supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring production schedules are met efficiently and safely. Lead and motivate a team of machinists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring production schedules are met efficiently and safely.

•  Lead and motivate a team of machinists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.

•  Manage machine shop resources including equipment, materials, and manpower effectively.

•  Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.

•  Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

•  Coordinate maintenance activities for machines and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.

•  Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, inventory levels, and quality control data.

• Coordinate with other departments such as engineering, procurement, and logistics to coordinate production activities and resolve issues.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Previous experience in machine shop environment. Job shop preferred. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various machining equipment such as milling machines, CNC machines, drilling machines.

• Strong leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate teams.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify issues and implement solutions.

• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

• Strong organizational skills and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing safety rules and protocols.

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as required in a manufacturing environment.
