2nd Shift Maintenance Custodian - Corpus Christi, TX

The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for the cleaning of James Avery facilities as assigned by Plant Manager. This includes removing debris, keeping areas neat and tidy by performing a full range of janitorial assignments. Tasks are normally determined by specific instructions or by following well-defined procedures, methods, and practices. This opportunity will be located in our manufacturing plant in Corpus Christi, TX. 

2nd Shift schedule is Monday - Thursday; 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

1. Cleaning floors by sweeping, mopping and/or vacuuming. 
2. Dusting furniture and equipment. 
3. Cleaning all interior windows and exterior when needed or assigned. 
4. Cleaning and disinfecting counter tops, appliances, and sinks. 
5. Cleaning and disinfecting all restroom fixtures and polish bright work. 
6. Wiping clean doors and walls as needed. 
7. Thoroughly vacuuming carpeted areas and floor mats. 
8. Vacuuming upholstered furniture. 
9. Cleaning mirrors as needed. 
10. Operating washing machine and dryer. Sorting, loading and unloading equipment folds laundry. Disposing of unusable items and reports need for replacement. 
11. Mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.  
12. Observing all safety regulations; participate in safety training; report all unsafe conditions to the appropriate company personnel. 
13. Adhering to Company policies including but not limited to the Attendance Guideline, Freedom from Harassment and Employee Discount Guideline 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1. Experience in the Janitorial/ Housekeeping field preferred. 
2. Dependable, reliable, and well organized. 
3. Ability to meet insurance company driving requirements on an ongoing basis. 
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
5. Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and contributes to a positive team spirit. 
6. Ability to pass a background check as well as an alcohol, controlled substance, and illegal drug screen that meets Company standards before beginning regular employment.
