Job Description - 2Nd Shift Maintenance Tech


Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

- Repair or replace faulty components to minimize downtime.

- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades.

- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in maintenance or a related technical field.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Good communication skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant training preferred.

- Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule, including some weekends and overtime as needed.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Operate and maintain air compressors, variable frequency drives, PLCs, and sensors.
  • Perform welding, brazing, and fabrication of parts, guards, and equipment.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Use precision tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols, report incidents, and wear required PPE.
  • Document maintenance activities and reconcile work assignments at shift end. 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical vocational training or military experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in maintenance roles.
  • Experience in a non-climate-controlled environment is often preferred.

Work Environment

  • Non-climate-controlled environment. 
  • Dusty environment.
  • Operates after hours, requiring stamina and adaptability to work shift.
  • Must be able to work in industrial settings with potential exposure to chemicals, solvents, and heavy equipment.
