GENERAL PURPOSE/Essential Functions


The Warehouse Material Handler performs all material handler operations related to unloading trucks from suppliers, verification of incoming shipments, transfer material to shelves and picking material from shelves for customer shipments.

Other Responsibilities



  • Unloads supplier trucks by hand, using a Hi-Lo and/or using a pallet jack

  • Verifies incoming material for accuracy

  • Separates inbound material and transfers to warehouse racks

  • Checks in return goods through return material authorization procedures

  • Conducts daily Hi-Lo inspections

  • Receives materials into the ERP system, manually or by ASN (Advance shipping notice)

  • Pulls outgoing orders, either by hand, using a Hi-Lo and/or using a pallet jack

  • Verifies customer part number with NORMA part number

  • Verifies box quantity

  • Stages finished goods in designated areas

  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor



 


 

 



Minimum Qualifications


The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.  Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.


 


Knowledge/ Experience



  • Microsoft Office skills

  • Familiarity with MRP/ ERP systems. i.e. SAP, AX 2009

  • SPC and ISO/TS understanding

  • Power Lockout Certification

  • Hi-Lo Drivers Certificate 

  • Demonstrated commitment to meet all safety requirements

  • Attention to detail

  • High School Diploma is preferred

  • 1+ years of external Experience or 2-3+ years of internal experience at Norma

Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or vendors; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating manufacturing equipment.  Must be able to lift various weights as needed to meet job requirements.

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, machine lubricants, airborne particles, vibration, and risk of electrical shock, high noise while in the manufacturing plant. Personal protective equipment (vision and hearing) used in plant.  Exposed to heat, humidity conditions during warm weather months.
