Job Description - 2nd Shift Mold Maintenance TM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  1. Perform maintenance and repair for mold breakdowns and other mold maintenance activities including pre-production mold preparation.

  2. Perform overhaul maintenance for injection molds.

  3. Identify and utilize mold subcontractors for major mold repair work.

  4. Analyze mold failures for trends and implement countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence.

  5. Manage work activity and spare parts using JDE system.

  6. Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Excellent problem solving skills


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Ability to use shop tools/equipment


Must be able to read blueprints


 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience.


 


COMMUNICATION SKILLS


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem-solving skills required.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members. 


 


TECHNICAL SKILLS


Experience using Microsoft office systems, Excel and Word a plus.


Experience using JD Edwards a plus


Experience using CAD/CAM software


 


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Apply basic math functions to solve workplace problems, calculate percentage, rate, ratio, decimal and proportion, create and interpret basic graphs and charts commonly used in manufacturing, calculate rate, ratio, decimal and proportion, calculate rotational velocity equations (RPMs), calculate speeds, feeds, and horsepower requirements for machining.


 


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


 


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS


This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, First Shift - 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2nd Shift – 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. or Sunday through Thursday, Third Shift – 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
