2nd Shift Mold Technician - Injection Molding

KAM Plastics Corp is seeking an experienced Mold Technician to support our injection molding operations. This role is responsible for performing mold changes, machine setups, and auxiliary equipment configuration in accordance with established process parameters and production schedules.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in injection molding environments, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to independently troubleshoot setup and equipment issues while working closely with Process Engineers and Technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mold changes and complete machine setups in coordination with Process Technicians


• Execute machine shutdowns, purging procedures, and contamination prevention protocols


• Set up and connect auxiliary equipment including dryers, temperature controllers, conveyors, air tools, and date stamps


• Connect and verify water lines, air lines, and electrical components during changeovers


• Ensure machines are set up according to the Process Book and documented setup parameters


• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenance


• Clean nozzle tips, inspect tooling, and maintain mold/tool condition


• Stage raw materials and manage material flow to machines


• Clean dryers, grinders, and work areas following production runs


• Complete required documentation including Set-Up Checklists and logbooks


• Operate lift truck as required


• Maintain 5S standards and safe work practices

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with prior injection molding or related manufacturing experience


• Working knowledge of mold change procedures and auxiliary equipment setup


• Ability to read and follow process documentation


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills


• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs


• Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on production demands
