2nd Shift Shop Assistant

POSITION TITLE: Shop Assistant

JOB TYPE:  Full-time, year round

REPORTS TO:  Fleet Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Mechanic Assistant role is designed to support the lead mechanic in the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of vehicles and machinery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sharpen mower blades
2. Pick up parts and supplies
3. Light routine repair/maintenance such as oil changes and tire repair/replacement
4. Clean and wash equipment and vehicles inside and out
5. Fueling mowers and trucks
6. Safety / Security awareness and support with building and grounds maintenance
7. Shop clean up
8. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of lawn and landscaping equipment
2. Valid driver’s license
3. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environment
4. Delivers quality work and services
5. Lift heavy objects for prolonged periods of time
6. Work collaboratively in a team environment
7. Maintain good attendance and report to work on time everyday
