Description
General Responsibility: Oversees all aspects of 2nd shift production in Weld, Fabrication and Paint.
Essential Functions:
The responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervision of all hourly employees in designated departments.
Planning and organizing production schedules and goals.
Maintain strong and clear communication with key personnel in a timely manner.
Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.
Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives to new hires and veteran staff.
Complete all employee reviews in a timely fashion as well as sit in on any personnel meetings/disciplinary actions as needed/requested by Human Resources.
Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement which proactively recognizes and addresses deficiencies.
Acts as liaison between all levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
Monitor and correct employee timecards daily and approve at the end of the week for payroll.
Quality Control
Directing objectives to maximize profitability.
Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with company standards and or/specifications.
Monitor own performance - self-audit for accuracy and produce high level output.
Monitor scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Safety
Personally accountable for preventing injury and illness to self and for protecting company assets.
Following plant safety rules is mandatory.
Be familiar with all chemicals used in your assigned area and understand any injury or health problem potential inherent in the use or handling of such chemicals.
Know the location, use and purpose of all safety equipment in your work area.
Adhere to personal protection guidelines set forth by the company.
Ensure work area is clean and free from safety hazards.
Requirements

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform basic turning and body movements.
Ability to work in a hot environment.
Ability to work in a dusty environment.
Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
Must wear required PPE.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, paint processes, materials and equipment.
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of mechanical principles.
