We’re hiring on behalf of a long-standing, multi-disciplinary construction firm with over 60 years of experience in excavation, paving, aggregates, and environmental services. The company is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Truck Mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of heavy-duty trucks used across construction and industrial operations.
This is a hands-on position involving both in-shop and field work. You'll diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, perform scheduled maintenance, respond to emergency breakdowns, and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy-duty trucks both in the shop and in the field.
Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, part replacements, and hydraulic system servicing.
Use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues.
Respond to on-road service calls and perform field repairs as needed.
Operate and maintain common shop tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
Follow and enforce company safety standards and regulatory guidelines (DOT, EPA, OSHA).
Complete documentation and service logs accurately.
Take on special repair assignments and assist with additional shop duties as needed.
5+ years of hands-on experience with heavy trucks or construction equipment repair.
Valid Class A CDL with current medical card.
Must supply own set of tools.
Experience in both field service and shop environments.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Comfortable working in varied conditions including outdoor environments and confined spaces.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform tasks involving kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Technical Associate’s Degree or formal mechanic certification.
Previous experience supporting heavy construction or excavation equipment fleets.
