2nd Shift Truck Mechanic

We’re hiring on behalf of a long-standing, multi-disciplinary construction firm with over 60 years of experience in excavation, paving, aggregates, and environmental services. The company is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Truck Mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of heavy-duty trucks used across construction and industrial operations.

This is a hands-on position involving both in-shop and field work. You'll diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, perform scheduled maintenance, respond to emergency breakdowns, and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy-duty trucks both in the shop and in the field.

• Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, part replacements, and hydraulic system servicing.

• Use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues.

• Respond to on-road service calls and perform field repairs as needed.

• Operate and maintain common shop tools, power tools, and precision instruments.

• Follow and enforce company safety standards and regulatory guidelines (DOT, EPA, OSHA).

• Complete documentation and service logs accurately.

• Take on special repair assignments and assist with additional shop duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with heavy trucks or construction equipment repair.

• Valid Class A CDL with current medical card.

• Must supply own set of tools.

• Experience in both field service and shop environments.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Comfortable working in varied conditions including outdoor environments and confined spaces.

• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform tasks involving kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical Associate’s Degree or formal mechanic certification.

• Previous experience supporting heavy construction or excavation equipment fleets.
