Job Description - 3+ Years Experienced Garage Door Technician

ProLift Garage Doors seeks an experienced Garage Door Technician to perform service and repairs for the greater Chicagoland area, primarily Western suburbs. If you have prior experience working as a garage repair technician (residential or commercial) or have experience from a comparable position, please apply.

Position Overview
Our company is seeking a driven Technician to join our team. The role of the Garage Door Sales & Service Technician involves collaborating with customers and homeowners to offer effective solutions for repairing or replacing garage door systems and operators.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assemble garage door/garage door opener components and parts.

Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Communicate orders for replacement springs, sections, or slats.

Ability to repair or replace worn or broken door parts.

Disassemble the garage door and garage door opener for maintenance or repair purposes.

Remove parts or components from the garage door and garage door opener.

Install hardware or other interior fixtures as necessary.

Fabricate parts or components as needed.

Conduct tests on garage door and garage door opener equipment to verify proper functioning.

Document all operational activities

Requirements:

Excellent Sales/Customer Service/Technical Skills

Must be able to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions

Possess interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition.

Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening simultaneously.

Ability to work a Flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends)

Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to be persuasive with customers when necessary.

Ability to work on a scissor lift and tall ladders.

Reliable and Self-Motivated.

Own personal tools for garage doors and openers.
