Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating equipment in our facility while preparing items for distribution. The Machine Operator is responsible for the packaging of our products following safe food handling requirements under SQF and HACCP. The Machine Operator is certified on all production machines, including setup and operation, and leads the production of the line overall.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate various packing machines on the production floor with proficiency
• Communicate with the workers on their production line to keep it running with consistent speed and accuracy
• Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
• Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
• Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care
• Report any machinery issues to management
• Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
• Follow all written and verbal instructions
• Attend all safety and production trainings
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
• Team player with a solid work ethic who is always prompt and committed to maintaining consistent work attendance
• Display exceptional attention to detail as well as the adaptability to move to a different position in the production line as required

Qualifications:

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers
• Physically able to lift and manipulate heavy objects
• Clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing

Experience, Education, and Training:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered
• Food & Beverage or perishable goods industry experience is highly desirable

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is subject to the following requirements:

• To see, talk, and hear
• The employee is required to stand for up to 8 hours, and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type
• The employee is also required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb mezzanine stairs multiple times per day, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl  
• The employee is required to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Strong aromas of spice, allergens, and particulates in the air
