ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Studio Classroom Project model for ELA is a research-and-development instructional approach designed to support student access to grade-level curriculum, particularly for students performing below grade level. The model integrates high-quality ELA curriculum, clearly defined teacher practices, consistent lesson structures, and strategic use of AI-enabled instructional tools to replace much of traditional whole-class instruction and practice. This design allows teachers to spend more time facilitating discussion, providing targeted support, and working with small groups or individual students, while maintaining high expectations for reading, writing, and academic discourse.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Teaching Lab Studio Facilitator/Coach’s primary responsibility is to facilitate professional learning and provide instructional coaching for ELA educators and school leaders implementing the Studio Classroom Model for ELA, with a focus on ensuring all students—especially those below grade level—can access rigorous, grade-level ELA curriculum. • Coaching teachers to effectively integrate AI-enabled instructional tools to support differentiation while maintaining rigor and high expectations

  • Supporting data collection, reflection, and weekly communication routines to track implementation progress and inform model iteration

The Facilitator/Coach role is an individual contributor-level role with no management responsibilities. This role is essential to ensuring effective delivery and continuous improvement of the Studio Classroom Model for ELA. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, adaptability, ELA instructional expertise (including MTSS/secondary literacy), and a commitment to advancing excellent teaching and learning for all students.
