The Work You Will Do:
The Government Operations Consultant III position is located in the Office of Long-Term Resiliency. This position works as a Housing Specialist within the Division of Community Development, Office of Long-Term Resiliency (OLTR) Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program. The position provides assistance under Rebuild Florida’s Housing Repair and Replacement Program (HRRP) for Low to Moderate Income (LMI) applicants related to the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.

You will be helping Florida Commerce support Florida communities through the contract oversight of the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery programs.

Pay: $48,140.46 annually
Your Specific Responsibilities:
All tasks as required in work areas which oversee HRRP eligibility reviews, award determinations, temporary housing oversight, construction management, contractor invoicing, and closeout activities.
Researches and analyzes documents and policies to be better informed on program decision making.
Provides support for bureau initiatives as needed in partnership with leadership.
Coordinates and manages activities with internal and external partners.
Coordinates with program vendors in efforts to establish eligibility at state identified lodgings for LMI applicants.
Maintains good working relationships and keeps in close coordination with vendors to track projects until completed status is reached.
Prepares reports and analyses and makes recommendations to team to determine program action.
Maintains essential program-related documents to provide State and Federal audit support.
Assists team on special projects as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in developing, administering, and monitoring State and or Federal grants and contracts.
Knowledge and experience in administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) preferred, but not required.
Proficient with Word, Excel, and ability to operate computer software with a high level of efficiency.
Ability to coordinate and manage housing program activities with other partners.
Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while representing the Housing Program’s best interest.
Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, customer service, or ethics.
Ability to conduct research and provide reports and analyses as required.
Ability to interpret statutes, administrative rules, and federal regulations.
Ability to work during agency operating hours which are observed as Monday to Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
