Description: A/AI Machine Learning Engineer - Level 3

You will be the Autonomy/AI ML Software Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control Team and play you'll play a crucial role in developing, integrating, and deploying autonomy and artificial intelligence algorithms for mission systems and production and maintenance operations. You'll be responsible for translating requirements into robust code, integrating cutting-edge autonomy, AI, or machine learning algorithms into Lockheed Martin products and platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Autonomy/AI ML Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Develop, integrate, and implement algorithms to enhance perception, motion/mission planning, controls, and other critical functionalities in Lockheed Martin products and platforms.

• Translate requirements into development code, integrating autonomy, AI, or machine learning algorithms into our products and platforms.

• Determine optimal software methods for acquiring and executing knowledge effectively.

• Implement algorithms into software to train systems to recognize patterns and execute specific functions efficiently.

• Lead various phases of autonomy software development, including requirements generation, software design and development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation.

• Review test outcomes, conduct troubleshooting, and resolve issues to ensure optimal software performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

• Experience with algorithm design

• Experience designing and implementing classical autonomy algorithms (expert systems, A* route planning, etc.)

• Full-proficiency language in C++ programming experience

• B.S. / Masters/PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, various engineering disciplines, or related STEM discipline

Desired Skills:

• Experience with simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HWIL), and field testing of embedded autonomy solutions

• Experience with realtime embedded linux

• Experience with modern software development tools (git, docker, etc.)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $100,900 - $193,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
