Job Description - Abbe Health Community Based Services Lead






Overview






AbbeHealth Services is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health and aging services that help individuals achieve their optimum levels of independence and success. Abbe Center for Community Mental Health is a subsidiary of AbbeHealth Services.

 

This position is designed to assist adults with serious mental illness to live in a supportive living environment. We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills to work in a progressive setting with an emphasis on responsibilities of day-to-day operations within a community-based setting, as well as program development and oversight.

  • Is aware of department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (eg. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or administrative staff.
  • Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the organization’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.
  • Recognizes and teaches team members the early symptoms of physical and mental illness.
  • Performs or coaches staff to perform appropriate interventions and/or referrals in accordance with an identified crisis plan.
  • Provides leadership and clinical consultation to team members working directly with consumers.
  • Demonstrates a positive cooperative attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to change to meet department goals.
  • Performs additional duties as may be assigned to ensure complete service to all customers.

Qualifications






For individuals with an Associate’s degree in a human service-related field, at least 1 year of experience working in a human-service related field.

For individuals without a degree, at least 2 years of experience working in a human-service related field, must have high school diploma. 

Experience working in Medicaid waiver programs.

Prior management/leadership experience preferred. Valid Iowa driver's license required.
