Collins Aerospace is seeking

a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

that has experience in applying MBSE to new system designs in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) but also has experience in designing Enterprise Architectures using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or modeling Enterprise Architectures using the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
You will use your leadership and MBSE experience to support senior architects in capturing the architecture using MBSE development tools, executing trade studies, collecting metrics, preparing and presenting technical information, and you may also act as an MBSE trainer on the program to support the broader adoption of MBSE for your customers, peers, and program leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
Creating and validating MBSE models (UAF and SysML)

Integrating requirements between requirements management tools and MBSE tools

Supporting the development of connectivity between enterprise architecture modelling languages (UAF) and design specific MBSE languages (SysML)

Creating specifications, interface descriptions, and executing trade studies and analysis

Use the Agile product development lifecycle to support the planning and execution of product development by allocating architectural artifacts to implementation teams

Report technical status for the effort to architectural team leadership

Develop and share best practices, mentor, and train others in MBSE tools, language and methodology

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:
Familiarity with DOORS Next Generation and requirements development and management

Familiarity with

Cameo/MagicDraw/Teamwork

Cloud and SysML modeling

Familiarity with MBSE methodologies (e.g., MagicGrid or OOSEM)

Experience in developing products in various product development lifecycles including Agile and Waterfall and workflow planning tools like JIRA

Ability to communicate technical concepts both up and down the leadership chain

Ability to work independently and ensure project goals are met

Experience in architecting using COTS solutions

Ability to prepare and present status, plans, and risks to leadership

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience

or

an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

or

in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with US Army organizational structure, ISR capabilities and Army Communications Systems

Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)

Familiarity with digital twin concepts

OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) – Model User or Model Builder – Fundamental

INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)

Familiarity with modular open system architecture software development approaches

COTS Hardware system architecture development and integration approaches

DevSecOps software processes

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
