Academic Support Program (ASP) Director - 2025-2026 School Year

Berean Christian School is seeking an Academic Support Program (ASP) Director for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Candidates must have a passion for serving God in the context of education. A relationship with Jesus Christ and viewing your position as a ministry is essential. The ASP (Academic Support Program) Director is the ASP advisor for all ASP students, as well as all accommodated students with a diagnosis, for grades K5-12th.  The ASP director serves in an advisory role to preschool for students of academic, social, or emotional concern. The ASP Director will lead with an effective model of integrity, efficiency and accountability and will provide ample opportunity for parent and student academic support. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:   The ASP Director should hold a minimum of a master’s degree in the field of Education.   It is preferred that the ASP Director has ACSI certification and a minimum of three years of experience in an administrative ASP capacity.   The ASP Director must also provide evidence of spiritual maturity and a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education. 

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:  The ASP Director provides direct and indirect service to students to include, but not limited to: 

PULL-OUT SERVICES 

• Work with administration to schedule appropriate classes and times 

• Work with ASP teachers to support students through choosing curriculum and guiding teachers in appropriate teaching techniques 

• Facilitate necessary student testing 

• Retain proper data and evidence on all student academic progress 

• Keep updated records regarding diagnosis; require current diagnosis documentation from parents as needed 

• With teacher input and support, create yearly goals for students and have yearly meetings 

• Work with mainstream teachers to support ASP students 

ACCOMODATIONS AND OTHER SERVICES OUTSIDE OF ESE CLASSROOM 

• Retain proper data and evidence on all student academic progress 

• Keep updated records regarding diagnosis and accommodation plan; require current diagnosis documentation from parents as needed 

• Meet with parents as needed to review diagnosis and accommodation plan 

• Work with mainstream teachers to support students with diagnosis/accommodations 

OTHER (UNDEFINED) 

• Attend and/or supervise secondary special events: athletic events, concerts, performances, plays, dances, award ceremonies; NHS induction, field and merit trips, in coordination with secondary administration.
