Academic Support Tutor - Middle School (ADHD & SEL Focus)

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Menifee, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Menifee, CA
• Schedule: Weekdays 3pm onwards, Sunday late afternoon
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Area: ELA, Math, Executive Function & SEL

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with ADHD and communication challenges
• Strong understanding of executive functioning, learning variability, and SEL integration
• Able to read nonverbal cues and adjust instruction based on student engagement and frustration levels
• Skilled at maintaining motivation and using student interests (e.g., basketball, swimming, computer games) to encourage learning
• Comfortable developing and executing a targeted learning plan based on an initial assessment
• Male tutor preferred based on student rapport and family request
• Consistent, reliable, and able to maintain a positive long-term relationship

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction in reading, writing, and math
• Use structured approaches to improve comprehension and retention
• Incorporate social-emotional learning to support confidence and self-awareness
• Monitor student understanding and adjust pacing or strategies accordingly
• Communicate regularly with the family to share progress and collaborate on learning goals
• Conduct an initial academic assessment to inform instruction
