JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State seeks applicants for

part-time Visitor

Services Associates (VSAs) to work

Thursday evenings

funded by Art Bridges Access for All. VSAs are frontline customer service staff who report to the Visitor Experience Manager and contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for museum visitors. VSAs will greet, check in, and orient visitors to the museum, share information about suggested donations, museum exhibitions, events/programs, and opportunities to get involved or learn more. A top priority for VSAs is sharing museum guidelines (such as no touching artwork and no food, drink, or backpacks in the galleries) in a positive manner that invites visitors to understand we all have a part in art

protection. VSAs

also collect demographic information through visitor surveys and process credit card transactions for donations and program registrations. In partnership with Security staff and Visitor Service Volunteers, the VSAs participate as a team to provide an exceptional, visitor-centered museum experience for all.
Qualifications: Some customer service experience is required. Must be able to welcome and communicate with a wide range of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Experience offering customer service to patrons with disabilities; knowledge of Microsoft Office365, including SharePoint; and/or an interest in art and museums is a plus. Candidates speaking more than one language are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be available to consistently work Thursday evening shifts until 8 p.m., as funded by the Access for All grant .
The pay rate is $15 per hour.
To apply for this position, please submit your resume and cover letter.
