Job Description - Account Coordinator





Description

The Position 

Under the direction of Account Management, this role will be responsible for operational detail for the assigned account(s). The position will be focused on daily account activities that directly impact the operational success and customer experience. There will be a heightened focus on Load Building, appointment scheduling, Portal Updates, building customer relationships, and cross-departmental relationship building in this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Load Building – Accept tenders from customers and build the loads within the TMS
  • Portal Updates – Dependent on customer, TMS portals require tracking updates for visibility
  • Appointment Scheduling – Schedule pick up and delivery appointments
  • Customer Requests – Including but not limited to track & trace, status requests, and POD/paperwork
  • Exception Management – As issues are escalated internally you will review the situation and troubleshoot
  • Internal Relationships – Build, maintain, and grow relations with internal resources that interact with your accounts
  • External Relationships - Become an influential partner to the customer base by building out a deep relationship with them through frequent touch bases and finding ways to solve their problems with our solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accepting and building loads from our customers. You will be responsible for understanding how our customers send us loads, acknowledging with the customer when received, and lastly building them accurately.
  • Contract & Spot coding – every load must have the appropriate reference code in them to classify whether it is a spot or contract load.
  • Customer Scorecard influence – an enhanced focus to ensure customer scorecard metrics are meeting their standard. 
  • On Time Coding – account dependent, but direct influence on internal KPI scorecards which includes having appropriate on time codes for both late pick up and deliveries.
  • Portal updates are mission critical for several our customers. You will learn how to provide true transparency to our customers on the status of their loads. This will require you to learn how to navigate through different customer portals and learn what they are expecting from us.
  • Identify issues, utilize resources to determine the best course of action, and implement solutions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates in a timely manner
  • Understand customer/carrier rating to properly provide quotes to customers based on specific freight criteria
  • Adhere to Evans’ Five Guiding Principles, all departmental and company procedures, policies and handbooks
  • Involve the Account Manager when needed for escalated problem resolution

Requirements

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to continuously sit, use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, and/or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment 

The typical work environment is fast-paced and moderately quiet. Regular use of office equipment is expected, including computer, fax machines, and telephone. Employees may be required to lift on occasion up to 10 pounds. This position is required to sit at a workstation for up to 8 hours a

day.

Salary Description

$50,000 - $55,000
