Job Description - Account Executive

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The following duties are representative of the role but are not all inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.



  • Promote and market HB Surfaces’ countertop products, materials, and installation services.

  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships within assigned accounts while identifying new business opportunities.

  • Coordinate internal resources to support customer needs and strengthen HB Surfaces’ position within the marketplace.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to client requests while following established service and business procedures.

  • Develop and execute business plans aligned with anticipated growth and customer goals within assigned accounts.


Account & Portfolio Management



  • Maintain a complete and accurate customer portfolio for each assigned account, including key contacts, project history, sales activity, preferences, and future opportunities.

  • Create and update detailed account profiles to ensure continuity, consistency, and strategic planning across all customer interactions.


Forecasting & Reporting



  • Provide monthly 90-day forecasts, including project opportunities, pipeline updates, and identified architectural/design activity.

  • Submit weekly or monthly pipeline and lead reports as required.

  • Meet regularly with leadership to review account performance, project status, and strategic priorities.

  • Deliver accurate status reports on all account activity, including open orders, proposals, and ongoing projects.


Communication & Collaboration



  • Communicate any issues, personnel changes, competitive activity, or evolving customer requirements in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate closely (dotted-line accountability) with Project Managers, Estimators, Installation Managers, and field teams to ensure smooth daily operations and project execution.


Team Participation



  • Attend all sales meetings, team meetings, and relevant training opportunities.

  • Submit requested reports, updates, and documentation within established deadlines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of individual growth, organizational needs, and industry advancements.

HB Surfaces is a premier architectural surface provider serving Southern Utah’s residential and commercial markets. Located in a modern, light-filled concrete and glass facility, HB Surfaces operates as a specialized design center for architects, builders, and designers. The showroom features a curated selection of flooring, carpet, tile, laminate, and high-quality countertop solutions.


DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • 2–5 years of experience in sales or account management (countertop/slab industry experience strongly preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurability to operate a company vehicle (DMV records required periodically).

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service focus.

  • Strong writing abilities, including correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new programs and applications quickly.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a changing environment.

  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making abilities to provide solutions in diverse sales situations.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Ability to interpret floor plans and technical drawings related to construction and design projects.

  • Professional discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information and complex customer challenges.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


While performing the duties of this position, the employee will regularly be required to communicate effectively and listen. The role frequently involves sitting and computer-based work, with occasional standing and movement. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Some travel may be required for project work, customer visits, or training.
