Baselayer is the identity layer for institutions across the United States — the most complete business graph in America and every human tied to it. We fuse public records, IRS data, sanctions lists, web signals, and fraud telemetry from 2,200+ financial institutions into a single graph that resolves any business and the humans behind it in milliseconds. The legacy credit bureaus took 50 years to build something that gets 60% match rates. We've built something that gets 98% in under two years.

Today we're trusted by over 20% of financial institutions in America — including FIS, Rho, Socure and leading loan infrastructure providers. But the graph is becoming infrastructure for anyone who needs to know if a business is real and worth trusting: gig platforms, marketplaces, AI companies, and commerce infrastructure at scale.

ABOUT THE TEAM

AI agents are starting to transact: opening accounts, buying services, moving money on behalf of the businesses and people behind them. Every one of those transactions has a counterparty asking the question banks have always asked: who am I dealing with, and can I trust them? Today's identity infrastructure wasn't built to answer it at agent speed.

The Agentic Economy team is extending Baselayer's business graph into the trust layer for agentic commerce: verifiable credentials that bind an agent to the verified business and human behind it, a registry counterparties can query in real time, and verification APIs that plug into the networks, platforms, and protocols where agent transactions happen.

We run like a startup inside a startup: a small senior team led by our GM of Agentic Economy, working directly with payment networks, banks, wallet providers, and agent platforms. The category is being defined right now; the standards, seats, and infrastructure decisions of the next 18 months will be consequential for a decade.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Baselayer is growing fast and expanding into new products and segments, tackling the new identity and fraud risks introduced by agentic AI. You'd be joining a small, close-knit team where ownership is real, customer impact is immediate, and the work you ship matters from day one. We move deliberately, communicate directly, and care deeply about quality.

You'll run this pipeline with the GM: targeted outbound into named segments, first meeting to signed contract. You're the first dedicated seller on this team; the playbook you write becomes the playbook.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the full sales cycle for our agentic economy products: prospecting, discovery, demos, negotiation, close


• Execute outbound prospecting sequences to generate new opportunities


• Lead discovery conversations to deeply understand customer pain points and align Baselayer’s solutions


• Run high-quality product demos and manage customer trials or pilots


• Run technical evaluations with your buyers' risk, compliance, and engineering teams, working with our engineer on demos


• Contribute to the segment playbook: ICP definitions, messaging, objection handling, and pricing learnings


• Collaborate with GTM leadership to refine positioning, messaging, and sales motions


• Partner closely with Product and Engineering to share customer feedback and influence roadmap decisions


• Represent Baselayer with professionalism, credibility, and thought leadership in the market

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales of API, data, or infrastructure products to big tech, payments, or financial institution buyers


• A consistent track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets


• Experience running complex, consultative sales cycles with technical or analytical buyers


• Strong discovery, storytelling, and objection-handling skills


• Comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving environments


• A proactive, self-directed mindset where you create momentum rather than wait for direction

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• First or founding AE experience at an early-stage company


• Familiarity with the agentic commerce, stablecoin / digital asset platforms, or the AI agent ecosystem


• An existing network in our target segments

WORK LOCATION

• Based in SF; 4 days per week in office

COMPENSATION

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000 + Equity


• Variable Compensation: Commissions
