Job Description - Account Manager

Harcros Chemicals is an employee-owned chemical manufacturing and distribution company headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, with over a century of industry experience. With operations across North America and a nationwide distribution network, we deliver reliable, high-quality chemical solutions to customers worldwide across industries including water treatment, agriculture, oil and gas, personal care, and more. Position Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering value-based solutions. This role focuses on selling products and services to commercial and industrial customers while supporting revenue and profitability goals.

This position is required to be within 100 miles of the Thomasville, NC location to be onsite every other Monday and as needed monthly for Safety meetings.  Preferred locations include Raleigh, Charlotte, or the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Conduct sales calls, presentations, and product/service demonstrations
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads
  • Analyze market conditions, customer needs, and pricing strategies
  • Communicate product updates, pricing changes, and market trends to customers
  • Develop and implement sales campaigns aligned with company goals
  • Resolve customer issues and support customer processes
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Collaborate internally with purchasing, customer service, and management on forecasts, credit issues, and customer needs
  • Maintain and update customer account records and profiles
  • Support District Manager in achieving sales and profit targets
  • Manage customer credit issues as needed
  • Submit weekly expense reports

Qualifications:

              Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret business and technical documents
  • Basic math skills (discounts, percentages, commissions)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

              Preferred

  • 3–5 years of B2B sales experience
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Background in chemical, industrial, or technical sales

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office, customer site visits, and field sales activities
  • Frequent travel within assigned territory
  • Moderate noise levels typical of office or industrial environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional standing, walking, and sitting
  • Ability to lift and carry materials as needed (typically light to moderate weight)
