Plans and implements sales to specific, major accounts where cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities, and account management skills are critical. Accounts frequently have multiple buying locations (internationally in case of global Key Accounts), making establishing and maintaining broad customer relationships essential. Requires full knowledge of the product line and its applications.

Evonik's Health Care Business Line includes a fast-growing portfolio of products, services and technologies for the pharmaceutical, medical device, nutraceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. Within Health Care, there are 2 core product lines which this position will be responsible for selling in their area of responsibility.

The product line, Drug Delivery Solutions includes polymers for oral and injectable controlled release (EUDRAGIT and RESOMER), technologies for oral and injectable drug delivery, and services for formulation development and GMP manufacturing of oral and injectable dosage forms. Evonik Health Care's Pharma and Food Ingredients product line also includes amino acids, dipeptides and various differentiated offerings for key markets such as; cell culture media, pharmaceutical / biotech, and nutraceuticals. The West Coast region of the U.S. has many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including large multinational companies, generics, small-mid size pharma, virtual companies and contract research/manufacturing organizations. The variety of companies in this territory presents an opportunity for all of the product line's products and services. This is a key region for Evonik Pharma Polymers, with a large existing customer base, and significant opportunities for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PREFERRED IF LOCATED IN THE EAST COAST /CENTRAL
Responsible for revenue and contribution margin generation at assigned accounts and newly discovered customers for EUDRAGIT, PlasACRYL, RESOMER, RESOMER Select, cQRex, EUDRAGUARD, Healthberry, AvailOm, REXIM, generic APIs, generic packages, and pharmaceutical intermediates. Responsible for revenue and contribution margin generation at assigned accounts and newly discovered customers for contract drug delivery service businesses such as Vancouver Labs, Birmingham Labs, oral development services, and custom polymer development and manufacturing services.
Negotiate and execute confidentiality, supply, service, and quality agreements at target accounts.
Conduct meetings at existing and new accounts to promote products and services and identify new opportunities.
Qualify and Prioritize opportunities with support of Evonik's experts by linking the experts with customer's experts
Prepare offers and project proposals in conjunction with internal technical resources.
Member of key account team(s) as determined by existing key accounts and account responsibilities and carry out activities as determined by team and key account manager.
Active communications within U.S. and global teams, including maintenance of CRM system with customer contact information, visit reports, forecasting, and project opportunities.
Participation in conferences, tradeshows, monthly regional business team meetings and quarterly sales meetings.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree
2+ years of account management experience
Some experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a sales or technical position
Experience with pharmaceutical excipients or selling services like a CDMO would be a plus
Key account management experience would be a plus
Negotiating experience

Target Salary Range

$109,100- $185,500 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)
