We're looking for a motivated Account Manager, Industrial / Automation to help develop customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and expand our presence throughout this growing territory.

What You'll Do

Grow Your Business

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your assigned territory.


• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow existing accounts and expand State Electric's market presence.


• Conduct in-person meetings with prospective and existing customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities.


• Present, promote, and recommend products and solutions based on customer requirements.


• Work toward established sales goals while supporting overall branch growth and profitability.


• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.

Build and Maintain Customer Relationships

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers across industrial, commercial, and residential markets.


• Serve as a trusted resource by helping customers identify appropriate products and solutions for their projects.


• Provide ongoing customer support and respond professionally to questions, requests, and concerns.


• Educate customers on State Electric products, services, and available solutions.


• Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to strengthen relationships and develop business opportunities.

Collaborate to Deliver Results

• Partner with inside sales, warehouse, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure customers receive accurate information and dependable service.


• Coordinate with internal teams to support customer orders, product availability, and delivery expectations.


• Communicate customer needs, market opportunities, and service concerns to appropriate branch teammates.


• Work collaboratively to resolve issues and deliver a positive customer experience.

What You'll Bring

• Previous outside sales experience, preferably in electrical distribution or a related industry.


• Knowledge of industrial, commercial, or residential electrical products and applications preferred.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.


• A self-motivated, results-driven approach and the ability to work independently.


• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage customer accounts and territory activities.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new business technologies.


• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.


• A customer-focused mindset and commitment to providing dependable service.

Location & Reporting Information

This position will support our expansion into Columbia, SC and surrounding markets. While our new branch location is being established, the selected candidate will temporarily report through our existing Rock Hill, SC location.

The permanent branch address is to be determined. Interviews will be conducted locally within the new market, with specific locations and details provided to candidates during the hiring process.
