Account Specialist

The ACCOUNT SPECIALIST works under the direction of the Credit Manager; responsible for collections of past due accounts in a positive, professional manner; responsible for authorizing credit lines up a specified amount.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review all past due accounts, place on COD/CASH when necessary, set up on payment plans and ensure follow-through while maintaining the business relationship in good standing.
2. Send out appropriate credit letters/notifications as needed (past due, COD, Final Demand, etc.).
3. Process payments via faxed checks (CHAX), credit card and ACH as needed.
4. Research all customer questions and or complaints in a timely manner.
5. Process NSF checks as needed.
6. Ensure all contact with the customer is noted.
7. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
8. Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.
9. Adjust service charges up to $75 (level II)
10. Pull reports/queries as necessary to assist with departmental operations (level II)
11. File UCC-1’s (level II)
12. Have a deep knowledge of our outside collections process and to assist when needed (level III)
13. Ability to make adjustments in MaddenCo (level III)
14. Employee Account collections (level III)
15. Review accounts over $100K; request & review financials for high-limit customers (level III)
16. Provide backup support for Credit Manager with a variety of duties (level III)

Account Specialist I Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory testing on entry level skills

Account Specialist II Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualifications for Account Specialist I; plus

2-year business degree or 2 years relevant experience

Account Specialist III Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualifications for Account Specialist II; plus
• 4-year business degree or 4 years relevant experience
• Serve as back-up to Credit Manager for a temporary period of time
• Actively participate in Leadership Development
