Accountant

Position Summary:

Supports multiple business entities by assuming responsibilities for accounts receivable/payable and general accounting. The incumbent analyzes, resolves, and recommends solutions to accounting variations and business issues. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations ensuring accuracy of financial data.
• Assists Controller with preparation of financial reports.
• Generates and processes accounts receivable and accounts payable invoices daily and analyzes accuracy.
• Records customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors and takes appropriate action to collect past due invoices.
• Creates a weekly AR Aging providing commentary to Controller.
• Codes and enters invoices into accounting system ensuring appropriate expense allocation.
• Maintains accounts payable invoice filing.
• Coordinates accounts payable check run ensuring timely payments to vendors.
• Executes core duties and responsibilities of the role in accordance with the established skills competencies. 
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field of study, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is required. Experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred. Medical device manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Proficient in understanding and interpretation of written and verbal instructions, directions, and technical information 
• Intermediate computer competency in MS Office; Outlook, Excel, Word and ability to enter and maintain information needed within the HRIS and ERP systems is required. Knowledge of Paylocity HRIS, IQMS ERP, and QuickBooks is preferred.
• Attention to detail: Demonstrates understanding the broader picture while maintaining focus on finer details.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including willingness to participate in cross-functional projects and teams.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
