Accountant

 Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C. is a Virginia law firm with a focus in its practice to serve only government entities in managing accounts receivable, tax assessments, and the general revenue cycle. Our firm’s extensive experience in collection, bankruptcy, and assessment matters offers our clients full-service representation related to their receivables. 

Location: Lebanon, VA 

Salary: $50,000-60,000

Job Type: Full Time 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Managing the firm’s incoming and outgoing payments.

· Manage invoices, process payments and ensure timely collections of outstanding receivables.

· Overseeing relationships with vendors and managing contracts.

· Support the maintenance of the general ledger by ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.

· Manage and balance trust accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of funds, monitoring transactions and preparing detailed reports. 

· Preform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.

· Ensuring that all financial practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

· Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

· High technical proficiency including MS Office and QuickBooks Online software.

· Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

· In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

· Excellent math skills with high attention to detail.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and issues with financial records.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· At least 3 years of experience in accounting.

Requirements:

· Background check.

· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
