Accountant

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Cold Finish Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant.

The Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions, including but not limited to:

• General ledger accounting


• Corporate, tax, and divisional reporting


• Assisting with internal and external audit processes


• Maintaining and continuously improving internal controls


• Partnering with departments across the organization to analyze and evaluate costs


• Driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business


• Evaluate credit applications for new and existing customers


• Establish, review, and adjust credit limits using credit bureaus, trade references, and financial statement analysis


• Lead the collections strategy for customers and proactively address potential bad debt

This position will also participate in cross-training efforts within the Finance Department. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as necessary, including required overtime during month-end processing and close activities.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor degree in Accounting or a related field
•    Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications

Preferences:

•    Experience with cost analysis and profitability reporting
•    Manufacturing accounting experience
