Accountant I

Location:

Downtown San Diego - One day a week onsite

Salary:

$60-75k + Bonus

Description: Responsible for assisting with the recording of journal entries and transaction analysis in support of the month-end close for the company and its subsidiaries. Contributes to process improvement efforts and work proactively with business partners. Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates

Responsibilities:

Assists in the monthly closing process, including the preparation of routine journal entries and flux analysis for non-complex transactions.
Prepares routine balance sheet reconciliations.
Assists Accountants and Senior Accountants with transaction research.
Supports financial statement consolidations.
Supports quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit deliverables.
Ad hoc requests as determined by management.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Prior Accounting experience preferred
Insurance industry experience is preferred
